Pound and stray rescue for the forgotten in rural Missouri
The St. Francois Society works closely with veterinarians and animal
control officers to rescue the strays and pound inmates who will die from
starvation, mistreatment, or euthanasia. We provide veterinary care and
rehabilitation before attempting to place the animals in new homes. We
attempt to ensure that both adopter and adoptee are suited for each other so
that the home will be for the life of the animal companion. We
not only want to reduce the numbers that die in the pounds and miserably as
strays, we also want to provide our rescues with happy and comfortable lives
in homes where they will be loved and valued.
